Where did we leave off?
If I remember correctly, we'd just finished settling the schedule and division of labor......
Then next we should figure out the prom theme...... That sound good, Will?
Yep. I still want all of this to revolve around the students
It is a school event, after all. It's their dance. It's their party
So I'd rather we stay as far behind the scenes as possible and not make this about heroes
Noted...... Well, I figured you'd feel that way
?
But it's fine for us to put it out there that heroes are organizing it, right?
Of course. Anything to get more students to come
There's only so much advertising can do to grab their attention though......
? What's your hang-up?
The teachers want this prom to still be traditional, yeah?
I have to keep up with like trends and stuff as a DJ and, well, lots of students don't care for that kind of stuffy business
We do have to preserve some of the more traditional aspects, but there's still a chance for us to make impactful changes
We could do away with some of the things that make it harder to participate, like saying guys and girls have to attend as couples, or enforcing a dress code
Picking just one person to pair off with is already its own ordeal
I-I think that's a you problem. I feel like most people are just worried about having to ask someone out or even being able to find a date in the first place
So if we're letting people go stag, are we getting rid of the dress code too?
It'd be nice if we could, but I dunno......
Yeah, maybe not. Honestly, it's not the best move
We were allowed to wear whatever at our prom, but I don't think that worked out too well
Huh, what was wrong with that!? I thought people would be more comfortable attending if they could come in their street clothes......
Nah, wouldn't you be more worried about picking out your outfit than if you'd gotten some guidelines? There's more room to doubt your own sense of style
I-I see..... I get it now that you put it that way
Then everyone could just wear their uniforms! If everyone's dressed the same way, you wouldn't have to worry about what other people think
Rejected. That might seem easier, but where's the fun in that?
Also, uh, I didn't wanna say anything about it, Will, but. You looked like you wandered into the wrong building when you showed up to prom in your uniform
Ah......
...... Honestly, I thought so too, but I was hoping that letting people wear their uniforms would make it easier for them to attend
It would make it easier for them to look bad
Augh......
I dunno how to strike a balance. Too much freedom results in choice paralysis, but making everyone wear what they wear to class sucks the fun out of it......
Hm...... It'd be nice if we could get a stylist or something......
Obviously it's not realistic to pick out an outfit for every individual student...... Maybe we could prepare rental outfits?
That way the students could just put them on without worrying about what to wear
I see. It might be easier if we set a dress code and provide them with a bunch of outfits that fit it
Mhmm!
We could go with some kind of ballroom theme. So like, tuxes or tailcoats for guys and evening gowns for the girls
That'd be "traditional" enough to satisfy the teachers, right?
Absolutely! I'm sure they'd be pleased with that!
Ah..... but, our budget isn't that big. It would take a lot of money for us to dress every student that ends up going
Just leave that to me
I was able to make a few connections when I was helping out at the hotel. I can work out a volume discount for the rental outfits
Oh, sweet! I'll be counting on you!
......If we're going with a ball, I could mix famous classics and dance pop
They won't mind some old-fashioned classical tunes if I go with a modern arrangement
I see we're all set on music too ♪
All that's left...... Is figuring out what the students would think of this
What? Are you gonna ask them to pass a survey around the academy?
No, there's an easier way
......An easier way?
